Specializing in evidence based assessment and intervention

Dr. Scambler has been a licensed clinical psychologist since 2004. He spent 5 years training graduate students to be clinical psychologists as an Assistant Professor in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Program at Oklahoma State University before moving to Laramie, Wyoming in 2007 where he has developed a private practice and consults with numerous school districts in the state.

Dr. Scambler has a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. He has worked extensively with children with attention and behavior disorders as well as developmental disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorder and intellectual disabilities. He has also worked with adolescents and adults who have difficulties in the above mentioned areas. In addition, He has worked with children, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing anxiety and depression.

Treatment and Services

What treatments are provided?

Research-supported interventions will be provided. Interventions will involve the identified client and may involve parents, teachers, and other important individuals in the client’s life. Possible interventions include:

  • Behavioral interventions for behavior problems including autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.

  • Parenting skills training

  • Individual Therapy

  • School consultation

  • Social skills groups

  • ·Cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety and/or depression

  • For some problems, referral may be made to other professionals including

  • Medical provider for medication consultation

  • Speech language pathologists for communication difficulties

  • Occupational and/or physical therapy

  • An assessment will include the evaluation of strengths as well as needs.

  • You will be provided with a written report and an opportunity for in-person feedback.

  • Recommendations may include treatment that may be provided in this office or referrals to other types of professionals in the community will be made if appropriate.

  • Evidence-based assessment techniques will be used including standardized, norm-referenced measures when available.
